Sharon Kaye (Oakley) Butler

Sharon Kaye Oakley Butler, 69, of Mt. Sterling passed away Friday morning, November 18, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 26, 1953, in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, to the late Ollie and Lena Hayden Oakley.

Sharon was a Montgomery County native, of the Christian faith and she was a wonderful homemaker for her family. She enjoyed flower gardening, bird watching, and crafts.  She also enjoyed porch setting with her late husband, Charles and spending time with her grandchildren and dogs, as they held a huge place in her heart. Sharon will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Sharon is survived by her son, Chuck Butler (Debbie) of Mt. Sterling; two daughters, Becky Butler (Aaron) of Mt. Sterling and Nicole Butler (Eric) of Frenchburg; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Jamie Oakley (Mamie) and Ledford Oakley (Joyce) both of Mt. Sterling; three sisters, Mary Jewell, Ada Gullett and Faye Davis, all of Mt. Sterling; two step-daughters, Ginger Shelton (Thomas) and Sandy Spicer, both of Beattyville; a special friend, James Bailey of Mt. Sterling.

In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years Charles Butler, and brother; Odie Oakley.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00PM on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. Visitation will be prior from 10:00AM - 12:00PM. Both will be held at Queen Street Christian Fellowship Church. Committal will follow the service at Machpelah Cemetery. Jeff Haney will be officiating.

Pallbearers: Eric Allen, Logan Dennis, Aaron Blevins, Chuck Butler, Tylor Carpenter and Boone Jewell.

Honorary Pallbearers: Katie Edmonson, Baylee Blevins, Lisa Fugate, Jake Butler and James Bailey.
