Robert "Bob" Louis Tipton

Robert Louis Tipton, 77, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Sunday morning, November 13, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on August 22, 1945 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky to the late Troy and Bessie Amburgey Tipton.

Bob was a Montgomery County native and resided in North Carolina for thirty-two years.  He was a member of Rolling Hills Church of Christ and retired from his position with IBM as an industrial engineer.  Bob was a preacher and avid student of the Bible.  He was a member of Montgomery County Fish and Game club.  He enjoyed golfing, fishing, woodworking and restoring his 1955 R-110 series International pickup truck.  Bob will be dearly missed by his family and friends.   

Bob is survived by his loving and devoted wife of  fifty-eight years, Judy Purvis Tipton of Mt. Sterling; son, Phillip Tipton (Nancy) of Harrisburg, North Carolina; daughter-in-law, Kendra Tipton of Mt. Sterling; grandchildren, Emily Tipton, Ben Tipton (Katie Johnson) and Chase Tipton; great granddaughter, Emalynn Blaire Tipton; sister, Lou Blevins of Mt. Sterling; sister-in-law, Gayle Tipton of Mt. Sterling.  

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his son, Jeff Tipton; two brothers, Raymond Tipton and Tom Tipton; two sisters, Frances Estes and JoAnn Issac.

Funeral will be held Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 12:00PM.  Visitation will be held prior from 10:00AM - 12:00PM.  Both will be held at Rolling Hills Church of Christ.  Committal to follow funeral at Machpelah Cemetery. Brother Dan Murphy, Brother Jerry Carmichael and Brother Curtis Coots will be officiating.

Pallbearers:  Ben Tipton, Barry Blevins, Brent Blevins, Kevin Tipton, Wendall Fraley and Jim Bob Sons.

Honorary Pallbearers:  Wade Moore, Mike Issac, Kim Jones, Shannon Hibbits, Melissa True, Crystal Smith, Nancy Moore, Chase Tipton, Emily Tipton, Emalynn Blaire Tipton, Rick Poe, Josh Poe, Jeremy Poe. 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Bob's memory to Rolling Hills Church of Christ Bible Camp at 125 Rolling Hills Drive, Mt. Sterling, KY 40353.
