Marie Miller Branham, 93, of Mt. Sterling, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, August 23, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 24, 1929 in Grant County, Kentucky to the late Collie and Kate Sturgeon Miller.
Marie moved from Grant County to Montgomery County in 1946, was a member of First Baptist Church in both counties, member of Somerset Homemaker's Club and a homemaker for her family. She was a people person who loved her church and talking to people, she worked at the voting polls for many years. She also enjoyed making ceramics and flower gardening. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Marie is survived by her son, Bobby Branham of Danville; two daughters, Brenda Stone (Paul) of Mt. Sterling and Lee Etta Greer (Gregg) of Frenchburg; five grandchildren, Paula Stone-Buckner of Mt. Sterling, PJ Stone of Mt. Sterling, Anna Brooks (Adam) of Mt. Sterling, Kittie Perry (Jason) of Olympia and Jenny Holland (Kelsey) of Mt. Sterling; three great grandchildren, Jessica Stone, Cody Stone and Lizzie Walters, all of Mt. Sterling.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Branham; three brothers, Benny Miller, Cobb Miller and Jimmy Miller; three sisters, Sheanes Clemons, Gig Beach and Dot Banfield.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00PM on Monday, August 28, 2023. Visitation will be prior from 10:00AM - 12:00PM. Both will be held at First Baptist Church, 925 Woodford Drive, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky 40353. Interment will follow at Machpelah Cemetery. Pastor Chris Wells will be officiating.
Pallbearers: PJ Stone, Jason Perry, Kelsey Holland, Adam Brooks, Bruce Walters and Cody Stone.
Honorary Pallbearers: David Shepherd, Chris Nolan, Destil Ray, Melvin Turner, Robbie Turner and Larry Pitts.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 925 Woodford Drive, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky 40353.
